You love me. Real, or not real?

I just finished reading Mockingjay and now I am having withdrawal symptoms. I tried my best to read the book as slowly as possible, even prolonging breaks, to no avail. At the end, I felt sad, heart-broken, and a little bit relieved at the way it ended. I do wish there's a fourth book, because this is one of those series that can only get better. I'm tempted to post my most favorite parts but I don't want to risk spoiling it so maybe I'll update this in a month or so.

Be still, my heart

I'm lusting after Zara's new collection of knitwear. The heart print, most especially, since Jake didn't let me buy Forever21's heart-knit sweater. Must. Save. Up.

I'm Lebron y'all

This is how you annoy your boyfriend: wear his spanking brand new Lebron USA Team jersey like a girl. This is what you get for making me your personal shopper, Jake. Haha!

Before dropping me off at Trinoma yesterday, he gave me money to buy the new Lebron jersey which just came out at Nike. Because he was too lazy to park and go buy it himself, I played the role of the obedient girlfriend:

But I couldn't resist messing with Jake and so an impromptu pictorial by myself followed, here are the results tada!
RAAAWR!
Peace out mofos.

Yaaaawn

I tried to get up at 6am last week to help lola plant her new herbs. Tried being the operative word here. I managed to get my ass out of bed around 8am. There was still a slight coolness to the Sunday morning so the dogs and I hung out by the terrace and cheered on lola and Marla while they planted the herbs. Hee. So much for helping. Beautiful day, though.

I don't even know what they're called. Basil? Oregano?

Calm Sunday morning.

Pepper tried to run and escape. Ha!

My friends for the morning. Pepper and Gingey.

Coco! :) Cutie pie

What I've been up to lately

Mostly pigging out, hanging out with my mom at the mall, playing with the dogs. Life's been good :-)

One weekday, Mom surprised me with Oreo-filled doughnuts from Cellos:

While we were strolling around MOA, we were pleasantly surprised at the roaming band's heart-warming performance:

Best of all, they made Lola smile:

Then we bonded over Chocolat cakes before picking up the dogs at the groomer:

Our Pepper Fats insisted on sleeping inside the tub:

Shopping and sweets with mom. Parvati's frozen Brazo De Mercedes with Vanilla ice cream:

Adrenaline Rush

After a panic attack last night, I finally grabbed myself a copy of Mockingjay! Yahoo! I am so thankful Taft people are either not interested in the series, or bought their copies somewhere else. I called National Bookstore in front of La Salle as soon as they opened this morning and yes, they do have a couple of stocks left at, GET THIS, 20% off for first-comers!!! So that means I only paid Php 530.00 instead of Php 759.00. It's like I reserved myself a copy! WINNER!!! I'm itching to read it tonight since I'm busy with work. Also, I'm seriously tempted to cancel my date with Jake tonight just so I can read hahaha kidding. Wouldn't miss it for the world :p

Miss Manners

And this is why I remind myself never to commute on the LRT: this lady standing in front of me was picking her nose the entire time. Gross. I kept looking at her with a death glare but she kept on picking at that huge nose of hers. What have you got up there anyway? And this girl sitting beside me was coughing with her mouth open. Geez. Cover your mouth! Why am I surrounded by these fools? Gross.

Crapshit

It totally slipped my mind that Mockingjay comes out today. I have virtually ignored every Facebook update on its page and now I'm left with no Mockingjay while everyone else gets to read it. I was too busy working, shopping, or prancing around to reserve myself a copy and look where it got me. I'm betting all bookstores are sold out by tomorrow. I'm even betting the jejemon locations are sold out. I hate myself. And I recently bought vampire novels over this??? Crap.

With a British accent

I was feeling particularly vintage-y at the shops yesterday.

I absolutely went gaga over these dainty things: Superga's polka-dot sneakers and Zara's lace and heart-print daisy dukes. It also didn't help that I was reading Topshop's blog the whole afternoon before I went shopping. They were all vintage and dainty over there.

I'm thinking of shifting to solid tones with a dash of lace next season. I'm getting tired of all these dainty prints. Maybe some tans, blacks, grays, and whites. Or not.

Still Reeling

Unethical media + incompetent Philippine National Police= Total Chaos.

What should have been a peaceful negotiation turned into a crisis after live media coverage of the hostage taking provided access to the hostage taker where he witnessed the manhandling of his brother by their former colleagues, prompting all hell to break loose.

My dear po-pos, do you have any dirty laundry you didn't want to air out? Mendoza clearly had something to say about our beloved PNP. Why deny the media access? He was fine and dandy throughout the day, ordering food for the captives and requesting for more gas to prolong the AC. It was only after the PNP vehemently denied any of his requests that he decided to shoot like crazy.

Also, our dearest PNoy, where were you when all of this took place? I have an inkling GMA wouldn't have let this happened. Mendoza was clearly deranged, humor him, won't you? There were lives at stake. International lives, if I may add. Why didn't you send high ranking officials to handle this? Stroke his ego a little, listen to his rants. Clearly, ignoring him wasn't the brightest solution. When that man hostaged the bus-load of kids two years ago, GMA sent a senator and some high ranking officials to negotiate. Did anybody die? No. The point of a hostage is that these people want something in return for their efforts. If you keep denying that, then you lose your hostages.

Mendoza looked like a nice, confused man. But he was trying to right an injustice done to him with yet another injustice. I can only assume the pressure and stress of losing his job of thirty years with no alleged proper process plus getting stripped off his retirement benefits took a toll on this man.

Tell me, when are we going to realize that there is something wrong with our system? To push a man to kill a bus-load of people for the sake of retirement benefits and getting his job back says a lot about our country. Act up, PNoy. Stop yapping all the time.

I Approve

Just got my weekly newsletter from Topshop and this season's palette will focus on tan and gray tones. Good job, bitches. After last season's floral overload, this might just be the fresh break I need. My closet's currently overflowing with florals, polka dots, and anything pastel and girly. Can't wait!

Two Parts Confusing & One Part Addicting

I just finished reading The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo today and I must say, it's a good novel with a lot of potential. The hunt for Harriet Vanger has left me hanging although I could do without the stereotypical detective novel style that was evident in some parts of the book. Lisbeth Salander is not worthy of the title, but she will have to do as the trilogy apparently seems to revolve around her. I think I might not be buying the two other books that followed this mainly because I want to keep liking the story. Or what do I know? We'll see.

Since I finished that book rather quickly along with my new Undead novel, I shall move on to the Sookie Stackhouse novels (yes!). I've been searching all over the metro for the original cover of the first book but it's sold out everywhere. Finally, I gave up and bought the True Blood cover of the first book: Dead Until Dark and will just have to satisfy myself with the original covers for the others.

Here's to hoping I can restrain myself and prolong this one, I'm too broke at the moment to splurge on new books.

Yo Lady Justice

So I'm minding my own business here at the mall when this fugly girl crossed my line of sight while wearing the unicorn tee I'm currently coveting from Dorothy Perkins. She was flirting with a jejemon-looking boy. And she was wearing it all wrong.

Where is the justice in this world?

Jatujak & La Créperie Therapy

Too many cheat days. Jake and I were craving Thai food so we hit Jatujak last weekend to binge on the stuff.

Yummy spring rolls

Jake's requisite bagoong rice. His weakness--he would always order this back in college at The Venue.

Pad Thai with Shrimp. This makes me miss the streets of Bangkok where they would cook Pad Thai right in front of you. Yummiest.

Chicken Sate with Peanut Sauce and oily vinegar dip. Nomnomnom.

For dessert, he finally gave in to my insistence to eat at La Créperie at Shang. I've been eye-ing this charming, dainty crepe kiosk with the yellow couches and french banisters that makes you feel as if you're eating right out on the streets of Paris.

My banana crepe with vanilla ice cream

Jake's Mango Nutella chocolate crepe with whipped cream

Don't you just love how dainty everything is?

Thanks for the treat, Joaquin!

Oh Brother

I had a dream about Joe Jonas the other night. We were crushing on each other and I woke up swooning over him. What is wrong with me? In my dream, he was madly in love with me and dedicated a special song just for me while he was on stage. While this may be reminiscent of my (now foolish) high school daydreams where I would imagine I'm the girlfriend of a rock star and envied by my peers, I must admit that I haven't felt that kilig while dreaming in ages. So now, I find myself constantly Googling the guy and am consequently hating on Demi Lovato, Taylor Swift, and Camila Belle. Move over, bitches. Joe Jonas is mine (until the memory of my tween dream fades into non-existence or until I dream about hotter guys). Ah, must nice to be a tween again.

Mrs. Cook

I attempted to make breakfast last Sunday after one too many Honey Bunches of Oats with strawberries every morning. As I was as acquainted as a foreigner with our kitchen, it took me some time to conjure something edible but I was very proud of myself. Voila, my tuna sauteed in garlic, onion, and tomato with vegetable bread and green tea:

My mom was weirded out when she saw me bustling around the kitchen when she came in. Who wouldn't? I'm not exactly the world's best chef (nor the most organized). It didn't help that she came in right at the moment where I was freaking out because I accidentally dumped the onions on the frying pan therefore spraying myself with scalding oil. Don't laugh, I have the battle scars to prove it.

It was a nice, happy feeling making my own breakfast. I wish I have the luxury to do it every morning. Oh, who am I kidding? Every Sunday morning, maybe. I don't think I have enough energy to clean up the mess I make every time I attempt to cook. Kiss kiss.

Where did my towel go?

Some twat stole my towel while I was swimming laps today. What a jerk. What kind of idiot steals a towel??? It even had my lola's name embroidered on it. Stupid ass.

I am torn

One Night Stand

How on earth did I gain back 2 pounds? I better lay off the sweets and fried food, I've been having a Boracay hangover thinking I can eat anything because I'm on vacay. Oh 100 lbs, you elusive bitch.
